Herbs!

Yet another reason to love Sobsey's. Fresh herbs. I picked up a mint, a cilantro and a basil. And they are now in my kitchen window awaiting some sunshine....wait for it...Actually today's not so bad, I shouldn't complain.

Rosebud is on Twitter

I'm not sure why. It seemed like a good idea. Come follow me! My call sign is "rosebuddesign". Or, if you think i'd like to follow you, let me know your handle, and I'll jump on the bandwagon. I like bandwagons. Especially if they have balloons attached to them. Thanks again to Meg for the balloons.

Today's Special

I know I haven't posted in a looooooong time. I'm gonna try. Really I am. I might make this a regular "column". This is the chalkboard in my kitchen. Toby stole the chalk and, well....that's what happens when the small dog learns his alphabets. I like his sense of typography. Especially the kerning. Very avant-guard. Ok, I'm done.

ABC Carpet online store

For the past little while I've been freelancing at ABC Carpet & Home working with them to come up with a new design for their online carpet store. The new design has launched, and everyone seems very happy with it.
If you didn't know, ABC has an impressive collection of rugs and carpets ranging from modern to one-of-a-kind antiques. The website features lots of deals, including free shipping on orders over $250. Check it out here.

Rosebud Design Studio on Design*Sponge Sneak Peek

Ok, to be quite honest, this was a feature on Design*Sponge back in July. And, because I was goofing off all summer (I figured I'd be honest with you), I never got around to posting on the ol' Rosebud blog. Anyway, this was such a thrill to be featured on Design*Sponge (thanks again Grace and Anne), that I thought I would post the link here, months later just for kicks (and because I was goofing off all summer). Click here to see the full post.

The Art of Wooing: an email tale of modern courtship

My friend Kaz has just self published an amazing book called The Art of Wooing: an email tale of modern courtship.
This gorgeous mixed media art and poetry book tells a juicy tale of romantic longings and ponderings through emails exchanged between the author and a colorful cast of friends who weigh in with thoughts on love, courtship and tales of their own adventures.
The book contains Kaz's own mixed media artwork and poetry and is produced in full color with vellum insert pages.
You can read more and even flip through some pages of the book for yourself at the website - www.theartofwooing.com.
Since Kaz is self-distributing her book, it's up to those of us who love it to help get the word out.

Product of the week - Holiday Notes to Self and Others

Since the holidays are upon us, I thought I would start shamelessly promoting Rosebud Design Studio Holiday offerings. This card from the Holiday Notes to Self and Others Postcard Book is really popular. It seems most people I know have someone they can send it to. You can view the full set of postcards here on the Rosebud website, or you can purchase them here, on the Rosebud Etsy Store.

Paris

I know it's been a while since my last post, but I've had a good excuse: I've been in Paris for a short vacation and to see the Paris gift show: Maison et Objet. It was a fantastic trip. Click here to see some photos from the whirlwind tour.
I'm going to try and post my favorites from the Maison et Object....just as soon as I can locate my paperwork on that...
Also, as an item of interest, here is a link to the awesome bicycles that we used to get around while in Paris.

Store of the week: Paper Doll

The featured store of the week is Paper Doll, located in Chicago, IL. They girls at Paper Doll have been buying from Rosebud Design Studio consistently since I started. Although I have never been to their store (and never even been to Chicago), if you are in the area, you should check it out. They stock tons of great lines, fun gift items, and have a cute little store mascot, Maude, the pug. Thanks for being great customers!

Bliss Print from Yellena

I just recently received the above print that I ordered from Yellena's etsy shop. I really love her drawings. The colors are bright and fun, and the artwork is almost like advanced doodling (I mean that as a good thing).
I'm starting to collect affordable art pieces. So far, I have a gooco print from Sugarloop, a silkscreened poster from L2, some letterpressed pieces from Manifesto, an art print from Old School Stationers, and some other random stuff of my own creation.
